Becoming a Team Volunteer

Welcome to the Blue Cheese Volunteer Guide

Thank you for your interest in supporting FRC Team 1086 Blue Cheese Robotics!

Volunteers play a crucial role by helping with events, logistics, and community activities throughout the school year.

Volunteering is flexible, low-commitment, and does not require robotics or technical experience. Whether you want to help occasionally or regularly, we’re grateful for your support.

This page will guide you through the simple steps to get started.

  • Volunteers help with tasks that support the team such as:

    • Event setup and cleanup

    • Concessions or food distribution

    • Managing crowd flow at competitions

    • Transportation or supervising team gear

    • Helping at outreach or community events

    • Administrative tasks or donation support

Volunteers do not mentor students or participate in technical build work. That’s reserved for team mentors.

  • Volunteers:

    • Support events and logistics

    • Have flexible, low-hour involvement

    • Do not teach or supervise students long-term

    • Often help only a few times per season

    Mentors:

    • Work closely with students

    • Attend meetings regularly

    • Participate in technical or leadership roles

If you simply want to help at events or support the team occasionally, volunteering is a perfect fit.
